I had the great pleasure of listening to Pope John Paul II's official biographer and New York Times bestselling author, Mr. George Weigel speak tonight on his book, The End and the Beginning: Pope John Paul II- The Victory of Freedom, the Last Years, the Legacy. In his talk he speaks of Pope John Paul II's impact on the fall of communism, the life he lived constantly under surveillance by the KGB and other secret police agencies, and his last years. This is one of the better speakers I have heard and there is never a dull moment. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I did. If, after hearing him speak, you would like to purchase one of his books, you may do so by clicking here. I would like to thank Mr. Weigel for granting me permission to record his talk. I would also like to thank Our Lady of Mercy parish for bringing in such a great speaker and sharing this with the public. Peace of Christ, David Dawson

In Episode 19 Seminarian Mike Sanders Revisted, we meet up with Mike again to find out how his first year at the seminary went. (See Episode 15 for our first interview before he entered into seminary) As you might recall, Mike is a late vocation and left the secular world at 30 to explore his vocation to the priesthood. He just finished his first year at St. Joseph's seminary college and tells us about his experience there: What he expected and didn't expect, daily life, and his hopes for the future. I hope to sit with Mike every year and follow him along his 6 year journey towards the prieshood. David@theeverydaycatholic.com

It is a sad fact that many marriages end in divorce, but if you were married in the Catholic Church, civil divorce is not the final step. Enter into the world of annulments. Ever wonder what one is, the process, why do it? As our special guest for this episode, we sit down with Fr. Paul Counce, the Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Baton Rouge to answer these questions and more. David@theeverydaycatholic.com |
